We found ourselves above a new cafe bar due to open at the beginning of February and jumped at the chance to work with the owner to create a brand for their business.
They had already named it ‘The Board’ – the idea being that the menu changes weekly and people are invited via social media to put suggestions forward to see on the board. We created a clean and simple logo and re-designed part of the typeface to allow the ‘O’ to become our board.
The device is then used as a wooden frame in the cafe bar where the chalk board resides. We selected some typefaces to bring out the personality of the brand and created a strap line ‘a break from the norm’ to highlight the ever changing menu and the fact you can help make the decisions – with the cafe bar being independent it helped to promote the fact that you can go somewhere different – not just the same old chains.
