We worked with Sex in a Box to create their branding and packaging concepts as part of their foray into the subscription box market. Tailoring boxes to customers’ preferences but keeping the contents a secret until delivery gives a devilish element of surprise.
First come first served
Being the first subscription box of its kind to the UK market, their aim is to revolutionise the way couples explore their deepest desires and fantasies.
The identity also needed to appeal to the boutique market which led to a stripped down palette and classic typography. We played on the double x in the name, drawing
on its connotations of secrecy and intimacy.
We created a flexible identity to suit all shapes and sizes and supported this with an x-shaped pixelation grid for imagery which added an air of mystery and alludes to the adult nature of
the products. The x was re-enforced further with the introduction of a pattern to be used in the packaging, whilst the copy mirrored the logo in subtly highlighting the x’s contained within it.
