GreaterSport are aiming to change lives through physical activity and sport to help make Greater Manchester the most active region in England. The GreaterSport team had put out an open call to creative agencies to deliver their new brand to take their proposition forward. Despite tough competition and a huge number of responses, they felt our process and own vision as an agency made us the strongest and best fit for them. As a charity, they had budget constraints, whilst also needing to deliver a vibrant brand identity to elevate their messaging.
Using their values and latest strategy, we developed their visuals around the ideas of movement, direction and improvement. An arrow symbol, also meaning ‘greater than’ formed the basis of the brand identity, underpinning the construction of the logo and running through a series of flexible graphical devices.
We adopted a simple yet distinctive two tone colour palette which also formed a moving gradient.
We have continued to enjoy a great relationship with GreaterSport, developing a digital toolkit and online reports.
The work supported by GreaterSport to embed physical activity across the system in Greater Manchester is now gathering serious pace. Mayor Andy Burnham, said: “Greater Manchester residents are taking great strides to become more active – and we’re tackling inactivity three times faster than the national average.” We look forward to continuing to assist GreaterSport to help reach their 2 million moving ambition by 2021.
