Meet Alice!

Meet our newest graphic designer, Alice!

So Alice, introduce yourself.

I’m Alice the ‘newbie’ graphic designer at Dawn,I started back in November and it’s flying by! I’m 25 and live in Stockport but am originally from Birmingham.

I moved here for Uni 6 years ago and I never moved back home! I have a slight addiction to stripes.. they’re my go to lol and even Henry spotted it in my first week!! I am currently renovating my first home with my partner Jon – we have a whippet called Levi and a devil cat called Yolandi.

Do you have any hobbies?

I enjoy being outdoors with Levi my pooch, we go hiking and camping a lot! I also love snowboarding and exploring new cities- I recently went to Copenhagen and it was such a creative fun place to be, I loved it!

What’s the most exciting part of your current job role?

Being creative daily and my work being something I genuinely enjoy doing, it’s exciting seeing ideas come to life and being surrounded by creatives that love doing the same. Dawn is also very different to places I have previously worked so I am always learning new things so it is exciting to see what is next!

What’s one professional achievement you’re most proud of?

I got my first full time Junior design job before I graduated from my Design Degree, I felt really lucky to get my foot in the door so early in my career. Also, just changing the sector of design I work in recently, it was such a big change moving from fashion and beauty to an agency and I’ve already learnt so much making that jump so thats a big achievement for me!

If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would they be and why?

This is tricky… I want to say someone really inspiring but the first people that came to mind and deep down I’d just love to sit at a dinner table with Loyle Carner or Harry Styles. I know that’s 2 but it’s too hard to choose one, I love both of their music and they both have such different personalities, they’re bold in different ways have very different creative ways of expressing themselves through music and their appearance!

What’s the best book you’ve ever read?

I don’t read half enough as I should anymore, it’s been something I’ve been meaning to get back in to but I am a book and magazine HOARDER. I’ll buy a book if there is something inside it that inspires me or I like the design of… anything goes, recipe books, magazines, coffee table books, design books, travel books literally anything. I have way too many to pick from but if I had to, I have an amazing GANNI Fashion book, the art direction and just book itself is fab. I just love stepping away from my screen and flicking through pages if I’m feeling a bit uninspired.
