Wake-up
Red Rock, a telecommunications company based in Manchester, asked us to refine their brand identity following changes internally and new services being added to their portfolio. Their previous branding was a little too literal, with a red rock as their logo, and red being the only colour used across the brand. Red Rock wanted a refreshed identity that represented reliability, growth, and adaptability, aligning with their evolution into managed service provider and their commitment to being a one-stop solution for businesses and charities.
Rise
Following the brand workshop, we explored Red Rock’s core values – proactivity, connectedness, growth, and pushing boundaries. These concepts inspired the creation of a dynamic, geometric brand device inspired by rock formations. This “Red Rock” was reimagined into a versatile element that could adapt and change across multiple applications, visually representing the company’s commitment to change and evolution. The geometric rock visual became central to the brand’s visual identity. It serves as the logo but its modular design also allows it to be rotated and transformed, symbolising movement and adaptability, these can then be used to create masks, frame imagery, and design exclusion zones, giving them flexibility to use it however it may be needed. Using the same shape at different angles and in different variations meant the brand was consistent, yet versatile throughout all brand touch-points.

Shine
While retaining Red Rock’s signature red, we introduced deeper and brighter tones for balance. This was complemented by an expanded palette to reduce the visual harshness of red-dominated applications, creating a more sophisticated aesthetic. In the brand workshop, the key stakeholders felt an affinity towards bold, condensed sans-serif typography. Their new contemporary, geometric typeface aligned with the brand’s new positioning, enhancing its modern and forward-thinking feel.

Rise
For their Wired for Success Podcast, we extended the brand by adapting the 3D rock into a speech bubble design, complemented by hand-drawn, marker-style elements. This made the podcast feel approachable and discussion-focused while maintaining a clear connection to the primary brand identity.

Shine
The rebrand positioned Red Rock as a more reliable and forward-thinking company, while retaining their approachability and standing out from other telecom marketing. Their refreshed identity enabled them to better communicate their evolution and ambitions, attracting a wider audience while maintaining their focus on small businesses and charities. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with the team eager to embrace their new tools and identity.
